About Tom

Journeys by Tom is a direct private hire service based in Edinburgh, run by me, Tom Zawadzki.

I am a licensed private hire driver approved by the City of Edinburgh Council, using a fully licensed hybrid Hyundai Ioniq. I have lived in Scotland for over 20 years and have been driving professionally in Edinburgh for nearly three years. I speak fluent English and Polish.

I created this service for passengers who want planned journeys, direct communication and a driver they can deal with personally. It is especially suited to early airport transfers, important appointments, business travel and longer-distance journeys from or to Edinburgh.

Over the last few years, I have often heard how stressful travel can become when a ride is cancelled late or no driver arrives. Journeys by Tom is built on simple principles: clear advance booking, agreed pricing and turning up when promised.

This is a one-person service, not a call centre and not an on-demand app. WhatsApp, email or the contact form are usually the best ways to get in touch, especially while I am driving.
